AKADEMIE for Performing Arts Producers #5 – Open Call

After organising 3 academies aimed at experienced producers and one special digital alumni academy this year, the Bündnis internationaler Produktionshäuser (Alliance of International Production Houses) is now gearing up to offer an academy in 2022 targeted at individuals at the beginning of their career.

The programme will be dedicated to teaching the skills necessary for effective performing arts production in the German and international contexts, while also spotlighting the role of independent producers.

Production manager, producer, company manager … there are a number of different labels to describe a job that has become essential in the performing arts today. What are the key skills? How can artistic collaborations be implemented on a national and international level?  Which networks and funding instruments are available? What is the legal framework? What are the most effective methods and tools?

This academy will consist of two four-day modules at two production houses and 3 to 4 online seminars. Participants will attend workshop formats that explore legal frameworks, administrative basics, production methods and tools. Participants will also be introduced to networks and platforms and develop strategies and models for producing in the independent performing arts. Following the academy, participants will also be given the opportunity to engage in a mentoring session with an alumnus of previous academies.

The two modules of the ACADEMY for Performing Arts Producer will be held in German and/or English.

Dates

  • MODULE I: 10 – 13 February 2022, Kampnagel Hamburg
  • 3 to 4 online seminars between mid-February and late April
