About the Feeling: Spring Edition
With temperatures rising, the Spring Edition of About the Feeling is turning up the heat. Six local acts will dance, sing and mosh hard with the audience until headliner ISSA cranks the evening up into high gear.
Julsan Issa Kolo Kamara aka ISSA describes a person who feels trapped in two worlds – day versus night, love versus loneliness, light versus darkness. ISSA is many things, but not one-dimensional. After stints in Mexico and the Dominican Republic, the former professional baseball player of German and Sierra Leonean descent fuses his African musical identity with Latin American culture. ISSA is a book whose intimate pages only appear at night, an atmospheric smile at some distance from a violent past.
The evening will be framed by DJ Mishkeen. Award-winning and well-travelled, he is at home in the genres of hip-hop, RnB, trap and Afrobeats.
