Together with METAhub – a cooperation project between the Jewish Museum Frankfurt, Mousonturm and the Archaeological Museum – we are inviting the Berlin-based Israeli artist Ryskinder to the slightly belated first Salon of 2024. Ryskinder became known in the early 2000s of the Jerusalem underground scene and has been playing the stages and niches of the world ever since, sometimes solo, sometimes as a duo, with sampler, synths and microphone in tow. With their highly idiosyncratic blend of power electronics, lo-fi hip hop, effect-laden Hebrew vocals and punk, Ryskinder’s live shows are a rousing example of avant-garde electro-shamanism.
The complementary musical antithesis is provided by Frankfurt-based DJ SK Libra, who will be playing the salon floor for the second time after their 2019 appearance with their cold-preserved mix of contemporary club music. As always, admission is free.
