Technologies of Access
Digital technologies may be able to support access and self-determined navigation in real spaces, too – in theatre, they expand possibilities of barrier-free approaches for the audience, but also for the artists. In this way, participation becomes possible inde- pendently from physical presence, while a clear divide between presence and absence dissolves. Conversely, new media approa-ches to specific experiences from disabledlife unlock. New technologies often produce new exclusions, while the users are also rarely involved in their development. Artists and experts, with and without disability, discuss potentials and weaknesses of digital access.
