What ghosts hide in empty showcases? REPARATION NATION by Jessica Nupen, Hamburg choreographer with South African roots, is a dance theater production that deals with the empty spaces of looted cultural assets on the African continent. In an interactive installation of dance, opera, visual art, live soundscapes and polyrhythmic beats, a new space is created in the performance space in which existing rules of ownership, hierarchies, value and attribution are redefined. REPARATION NATION is a production by and with artists and dancers from Senegal, Namibia, Kenya, Cameroon, South Africa, Ghana, Sri Lanka and Hamburg.
