The Sound and Reality degree programme at the Institute for Music and Media is an exciting crate with a lid that vigorously springs open because of the vital and fresh sounds and music from within. Curated by Phillip Schulze, the eponymous series at the Foyer will now already serve a third helping of acoustics, stimulus, and whackiness, between experiment and pop, structure and freedom: Edis Ludwig of the Düsseldorf Düsterboys joins Elisa Kühnl as they concentrate on glass as a material in their four-channel performance! Shuoxin Tan embarks on a journey into the innermost spaces of the listener with her quadrophonic computer music. Her composition Numbers and Events explores otoacoustic emissions. Ever heard of them? Not least: Emil Theodor Felhofer, Lennart Posch, Matthias Schneiderbanger and Simon Waskos perform a quadrophonic concert.
