Garden of Elements
Conceived by Konstanze Grotkopp
The sculptural installation “Garden of Elements” in the Kulturgarten HELLERAU stands for the interweaving and networking of people who want to embark together on the path of social transformation and seek exchange with others. Outside. In the water. By the fire. On the earth. In the clouds. With a drink, a meal or pen and paper. Come, linger and make plans.
ThinkTank
Conceived by Maximilian Haas
What does the ongoing environmental and climate destruction mean for our way of life and our self-image as human beings, for our approach to planetary values and relationships? And how can the arts transform our knowledge and actions? PACT Zollverein’s discourse programme CCS IV: Earth discusses these questions with artists, theorists and activists. It looks at the role of aesthetics in the modern separation of nature and culture, resource extraction in the Ruhr, the Global South and the deep sea, feminist practices of care in contemporary performance and indigenous cosmologies.
With Nabil Ahmed, Denise Ferreira da Silva (as part of Burning Futures: On Ecologies of Existence / HAU Hebbel am Ufer #14), Catalina Insignares, Daniel Kötter, Bojana Kunst, Carolina Mendonça, Melanie Sehgal, Margarita Tsomou.
In English and German.
