OPEN HOUSE
Finissage “DIGITALES FOYER”

  • Dialogue

We’ve been waiting a long time for this! Sunday, November 19 was “Open House” for our project “The Digital Foyer”. At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and the FFT, we spent a day presenting all the applications and initiatives that have been developed in the project. Around 200 visitors, many partners and friends filled “Das digitale Foyer” with life. Thank you all!

We have been working on the project since 2020, funded by the German Federal Cultural Foundation and in cooperation with Deutsche Oper am Rhein. From the very beginning, the focus was on encounters. We asked ourselves how digital culture and intergenerational exchange could transform the theater foyer – from a place of transition from everyday life to the theater to a place of exchange and play with an open outcome. Our wish: to help shape the theater in the digital transformation together with the audience!

After almost four years of the project, it was time for many words of thanks at the opening of the “Open House”. Alexandra Stampler-Brown, Managing Director of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and Kathrin Tiedemann, Managing Director and Artistic Director of the FFT, thanked digital partner MIREVI, the teams at the theaters, the many contributors to the project and, of course, the sponsors. But the biggest thanks on this day went to our project manager Lena tom Dieck. Without her commitment, the project would never have become what we were able to present it as on Sunday, and we will miss her very much.
