EMOTIONAL SPACE AGE is the title of the sixth edition of the Queer B-Cademy. During the festival, the halls in Kampnagel’s Westfoyer will become bubbles of installation, performance and collaborative activity, inviting visitors to a comprehensive experience of queer gathering, recreation and exchange with artists. The journey begins with the unification of several installations, performances and workshops in hall k4, where media artist and illustrator Nata, the collective Iridescent Institute of Desire, illustrator Rory Midhani and performers Rhama and Joy join hands and invite us to experience communality, fluidity and familiarity. Architect and composer Rasheed Jalloul and multidisciplinary artist Sarah Fartuun Heinze will bring mind and body into movement in their workshops. In hall p1, musician and performance badass Tita Maravilha celebrates being cringe-worthy in the piece Exercise for Mediocre Performers, and on the kmh stage House of Brownies (Pascal Schmidt, Black Pearl and Mandhla) serve up their BEcunting Powers, while iconic DJ Saeleen Bouvar joins queer rebel, performer and director Yousef Iskandar & crew in celebrating the queer diasporic Middle Eastern and Balkan club culture that once had a firm foothold in Hamburg. Fayim, Noah Slee and Pachakuti provide a symphony of emotions as they gather other queer musicians and invite them to a timeless jam session.
