Le Salon Queertronique
Chapter 9: Hermaphrodite’s Temple
Myths, visions, divine transformations and beauty beyond the earthly: Antiquity was the stuff of dreams – and the salon is its radiant revival. This time, a legendary 70s fantasy film serves as inspiration, merging mythological aesthetics with the opulent excess of the disco era.
Since the Romans discovered statues in Cyprus showing Aphrodite in male and female form, the idea of a divine hermaphrodite has emerged: eternally beautiful, arousing desire and sexually unrestrained. In the roaring nights of the past, trans women were celebrated as symbols of free cis desire – this time the relationship is reversed.
The Salon Queertronique invites you to play by their rules and becomes the temple of the hermaphrodite – a place where identities dissolve and ecstatic bodies sink into flowing sounds. House, disco and electroclash become divine hymns of a new, queer ritual.
Channel the inner water nymphomaniac, surrender to the sound, and let the temple consume everything.
The SALON QUEERTRONIQUE is Hamburg’s first party series for celebrating transvisibility – a platform for DJs far away from gender conformity. The salon’s host is none other than Hamburg’s most popular salonière Saeleen Bouvar, who just made Kampnagel rock the boat with the TRANSTRONICA Festival 2025. Now she is opening the doors to the Kampnagel Club again and inviting you into a space of queer empowerment, solidarity and ecstatic celebration!
