Publication Claiming Common Spaces III – „Corona Iconics”

We are pleased to present “Corona Iconics”, a publication by the Alliance of International Production Houses, which was created as a participatory project with the audience as part of the third edition of the Claiming Common Spaces festival initiated by the seven venues of the Alliance.

The festival edition planned for 2020 could not take place due to the pandemic. When public life slowly resumed in spring 2021, Kampnagel Hamburg invited to cautious re-encounters in live formats in June with Claiming Common Spaces III: Welcome to the Pleasure Zone, which took place mainly outdoors. Instead of a printed programme, Kampnagel initiated an Open Call together with the venues of the Alliance of International Production Houses and invited the audience to participate with private snapshots and share observations from the time of the lockdown.

The publication “Corona Iconics” collects snapshots and individual observations of the collective state of emergency until June 2021. The images were selected from all the submissions by photo artist Julia Steinigeweg and put into magazine form by graphic designer Hanna Osen.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the Open Call with their photographs!

We would be happy to send you a printed copy!
