The theme of “Generations & the Politics of Memory” seeks to spotlight generation-specific perspectives on historical events as well as the diverse narratives that arise from them, many of which we encounter in our everyday political and social lives. This artistic approach aims to reveal the mechanisms that serve to perpetuate these narratives and thus to enable new perspectives on historical legacies. We address efforts to distort history – for example, by playing down Nazi crimes – and critically examine them in the context of political interests.
