HAU Hebbel am Ufer has long had a focus on feminist leadership in progressive struggles and global processes of transformation. Building on our festival “¡Protagonistas!” and its gathering “Beyond Equality: Feminisms Reclaiming Life” in June 2023, we are continuing this exploration of international feminisms. In our discourse series of the same name, theorists and cultural practitioners will address the history and future of feminist movements dedicated to the struggles against capitalist appropriation, authoritarian regimes, and (neo)colonialism. The discussion will kick off with the new publication “She Who Struggles: Revolutionary Women Who Shaped the World”. The stories of leaders, pioneers, guerrillas, and writers who have shaped past movements around the world will be connected to the present.
