SOUND ON Vol. 2
Music & Talent Hub

What do Nina Chuba, Beyoncé, Apache207, Fred Again, Peggy Gou, and BTS have in common? They were all newcomers at one point and would have surely appreciated learning from experienced individuals in the music business. That’s precisely what happens at ›SOUND ON‹: Established artists offer tips to young people in free workshops, collaborate with them on creating beats, co-write songs together, assist in refining their ideas, or show them how to get a crowd moving and dancing.

At ›SOUND ON Vol. 1‹, over 40 young music enthusiasts came together over two workshops days and gleaned practical skills, self-confidence, and motivation for their own ventures in the music and media world. Participant Philine Sonny has since been honored with the popNRW Award, and many other former participants have come a long way in living their dreams of making music in their own unique way.

In 2024, ›SOUND ON‹ enters its much awaited second round! What’s happening this time? The team from BeatBasteln introduces the topic of ›Producing‹. The experienced producer, DJ, and radio host, Raffi Balboa (OK Kid), is coaching in ›Advanced Producing‹. A DJ workshop will offer guidance on the basic skills required to operate behind the decks. Rapper Horst Wegener, also known as Jesué, helps participants to refine songs and lyrics, while Joël-Joâo delves deep into songwriting. Additionally, Benjamin and Anna from Figur Lemur will be on hand sharing valuable know-how about music videos and live sound. On Saturday, there will be an exclusive concert by the up-and-coming stars Blumengarten, and to wrap up on Sunday, rapper Dein Couseng will perform alongside a surprise guest.

The program is curated by music journalist and 1LIVE moderator Tilmann Köllner who will co-host ›SOUND ON Vol. 2‹ together with Arman Marvani, also known as Dein Couseng.

Are you between 14 and 21 years old and interested in participating? Then, send a short video by 22.01.2024, in which you sing, DJ, rap, or explain in your own words why you absolutely must be part of ›SOUND ON‹ to sound.on@pact-zollverein.de.
