We invite you to a particularly sound-intensive edition of Der Geheime Salon with sound artist Thomas Ankersmit. Ankersmit fills both the Berghain, as well as the Tate Modern with the transcendental sounds of his serge modular synthesizer, and has released his music on labels, such as PAN and Touch. “Perceptual Choreography”, his latest work, which premiered at last year’s CTM Festival, is a sonic tribute to Maryanne Amacher (1938–2009), one of the great pioneers of electronic music. Based on her research into psychoacoustic phenomena, Ankersmit has created an acoustic event that disrupts listening habits and turns ears into instruments. Before and after, DJ Neewt will ensure acoustic balance.
